Meet The Team | Lois Rice

Join us in welcoming one of our newest team members at Casey Peterson, LTD, Lois Rice. She joined us at the end of July on our Business team.

Lois is enjoying the firm’s supportive, team environment. She also appreciates that continuing education is a focus and that staff are afforded the time to dedicate to learning.

When it comes to helping clients, Lois is not afraid to dig in and fix errors and clean up their accounting records. She’d also like to help clients develop procedures that will reduce the time they spend on bookkeeping and accounting tasks and running reports.

Lois spent most of the past decade working in payroll. She’d previously worked as a system specialist for a payroll software provider, which involved payroll, timekeeping, and HR onboarding. She also has experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Hiking the hills is by far Lois’s favorite thing to do in her free time. She also enjoys cooking meals — mostly the healthy kind — from scratch whenever she can find the time.

WHAT’S THE BEST CONCERT YOU’VE EVER BEEN TO?

I attended a Police reunion concert with my sister back in 2008. It was great music, and the energy in the crowd was contagious.

WHAT’S THE BEST MEAL YOU’VE EVER HAD?

Dungeness crab on the coast of Portland. It was great food on a great trip with friends and is still very memorable years later.

IF YOU COULD VISIT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY?

Ireland. My mother had taken a trip to Ireland and always talked about how beautiful it was. She had promised to take me on a trip there, but we never got the chance. I’d still like to make that trip a reality.
