Meet The Team | Cara Boland

Join us in welcoming one of our newest team members at Casey Peterson, LTD, Cara Boland. She joined us at the end of May as an Associate on our Business Industry team.

Cara is a Rapid City native who earned her bachelor’s degree in business economics and a minor in accounting from South Dakota State University in May. While in college, she worked for Daktronics in their accounting department. There, she gained experience doing credit and debit memos and monthly, quarterly, and yearly reconciliations.

Cara understands that numbers aren’t everyone’s strong suit and that taxes and bookkeeping can be stressful. In her new role, she’s looking for ways to help ease those frustrations and burdens for clients.

In her free time, Cara enjoys hiking with family and friends in the Black Hills and going to the lake. When she’s not busy with those activities, she’s playing fetch and going for walks with her dog, Piper.

FAVORITE PODCASTS

I love to listen to podcasts, and my favorite industry-specific — called “Morning Macros” — is actually done by one of my former SDSU professors. As for non-industry-related podcasts, I enjoy listening to Crime Junkie, Counterclock, as well as The Daily.

THREE QUESTIONS:

WHAT’S THE BEST MEAL YOU’VE EVER HAD?

Enchiladas!!! Enchiladas will always be my go-to meal.

WHAT ARE TWO ITEMS ON YOUR BUCKET LIST?

One of the items that’s high on my bucket list is to go to New York City and see the fountain where they filmed the intro song on “Friends.” I am a huge fan of the show! Another thing on my bucket list is to go skydiving again!

IF YOU COULD VISIT ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD YOU GO AND WHY?

If I could go anywhere in the world, it would be Germany with my family and Opa! My Opa and Oma were stationed over in Germany for a while, and that is where my mom was born. There is so much German incorporated into my family’s traditions, and I want to be able to have the chance to see where they all came from first-hand.
