Grant Money Available to Help Alleviate S.D. Nursing Home Staffing Challenges

South Dakota nursing homes struggling with retention and recruitment might be eligible for financial help from the state.
The South Dakota Department of Health has some grant money available. The CDC awarded the department $2.5 million to support the “Nursing Home & Long-term Care Facility Strike Team and Infrastructure Project.
Eligible applicants must be skilled nursing facilities, nursing facilities, or assisted living centers. Facilities can apply for as much as $20,000. The application process closes on April 15, and the details and application itself are online.
Facilities that apply should be ready to submit a completed, signed application form, a completed budget, and a W-9.
