Now that the April 15th tax deadline has passed, you might wonder what all your federal taxes pay for.

USAFacts, the site devoted to making government data easier to understand, worked with Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab to create a tax receipt. It’s similar to something you might get if you bought groceries or clothing from a department store.

You can find the tax receipt calculator here.

Enter a few details into the calculator for your personalized receipt. The site doesn’t store your information, which comes from the Office of Management and Budget and USAFacts analysis. If you’re curious what each line item means, you can click on the line for more details.

Keep in mind the calculator just provides estimates and doesn’t include tax credits, deductions, or other adjustments.
