Firm Operations Manager Job Summary 

The firm operations manager leads and optimizes the day-to-day operations of our growing multi-office public accounting firm. This is a dynamic leadership role that blends strategic planning, process improvement, and team coordination to make sure our firm runs smoothly and efficiently. You’ll work closely with the managing shareholder and department leaders to align operational practices with our firm’s vision and values.

Position Reports To

Managing Shareholder

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support administrative staff across multiple office locations
  • Oversee firm-wide operations, including facilities, vendor management, and internal processes
  • Collaborate with IT, HR, and department heads to improve workflows and systems
  • Manage firm initiatives, strategic planning efforts, and internal communications
  • Maintain and update SOPs, disaster recovery plans, and compliance documentation
  • Support budgeting, contract review, and risk management activities

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in professional services operations or firm administration
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
  • Ability to build relationships across teams and foster a collaborative culture
  • Detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and proactive in solving problems
  • Experience in public accounting or a related field is a plus

Working Conditions

  • On-site at the Rapid City, South Dakota, office location
  • Occasional travel to other office locations
  • Occasional overtime required with increased work hours from January 1 to April 15

Salary and Benefits

  • 74,140-$95,500 per year, comp hours, yearly merit increase, bonuses
