Healthcare providers, especially those in rural areas, can still apply for additional COVID-19 relief funding.

Providers can apply for Phase 4 of Provider Relief Funds and American Rescue Plan Rural payments through the Provider Relief Fund Application and Attestation Portal.

But you’ll need to hurry.

Not only is the deadline Tuesday, Oct. 26, but you’ll also need to submit your organization’s TIN, and IRS validation can take up to 10 days.

Here’s how the process works:

  • Submit your organization’s TIN for IRS validation in the PRF Application and Attestation Portal
    • Note: IRS TIN validation can take up to 10 days
  • Log into PRF Application and Attestation Portal and complete the application.
    • Upload any supporting documents if you have a complex organizational structure
  • Submit your organization’s application by Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 11:59 p.m. EDT

Your organization can use this funding to cover lost revenues and eligible expenses incurred dating to Jan. 1, 2020.

According to the Health Resources & Services Administration, there’s $25.5 billion in new funding available to providers impacted by COVID.

  • For rural healthcare providers who serve CHIP or Medicare patients, that funding includes $8.5 billion from the American Rescue Plan.
  • There’s also $17 billion in Provider Relief Funds aimed at a broader swath of providers who can show revenue losses and expenses that the pandemic caused.

The Health Resources and Services Administration will use existing Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare claims data to calculate payments. ARP rural payments will generally be based on Medicare reimbursement rates.
