Join us in welcoming one of our newest team members at Casey Peterson, LTD, Christy Stabber. She joined us in mid-January as our Human Relations Manager.

As a military kid whose parents retired to Rapid City, Christy spent most of her teen years and adult life here. That’s enough to more than qualify her as a native South Dakotan.

Christy’s been an HR manager for the past 15 years. She’s enjoyed working with a variety of large and small businesses in the nonprofit and private sectors. Tongue firmly in cheek, she likes to joke, “I didn’t choose the HR Life; the HR Life chose me,” which she believes is true for many in the HR industry.

One of the things she respects most about being part of the Casey Peterson team is the value we place on our employees and their families. Christy says she appreciates that as the firm grows, we do all we can to prioritize that culture.

That’s why, when working with teammates, her goal isn’t to “fix” anything but to continue building on the current company culture. She says that during her interview process, “people first” — one of our firm’s values —was a point of emphasis that resonated with her. Christy’s goal is to keep empowering employees through the benefits experience and development. She also says that although “work-life balance” has become an overused buzzword, we still need to find ways to set our employees up for success in both areas.

As a mom of four — three adult kids and one busy teen — free time is something of a new concept for Christy. So far, her list includes “cleaning and driving to sporting events.”
